Radiology
We have tomography radiographic equipment in our office. We know of only three orthodontic practitioners in Indiana who have this or similar equipment. We use it to take a radiographic record of the TMJ jaw joint before and after orthodontic treatment. For some patients, this information significantly impacts diagnosis and treatment plan.
Treatment Units
These compact units were designed and assembled by Dr. Avila. Waterlines are known to colonize bacteria. Many of the waterlines used in these units are bactericidal. The water dispensed at these units is reverse osmosis water taken from a bottle at each station. These bottles reduce the distance water is contained in a waterline.
Diagnosis Software
Written by a Loma Linda trained orthodontist, Gunther Blaseio, QuickCeph processes much information making it visually available for Dr. Avila to assist in the diagnosis of each patient’s skull. www.quickceph.com
Management Software
Written by an orthodontist, Mark Sanchez, this software was completely rewritten and released in 2004 for the Apple MacIntosh OSX platform. This software allows our Anderson and Muncie offices to simutaneously share the same database via broadband Internet. www.topsxtreme.com
